Turning to the Americans on the day before the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, the president of the United States announced strategies to fight against enlarging terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria- ISIS. He assured that the United States will lead the "broad coalition" and would try to cooperate with other countries to finally destroy the radical groups and acts of terrorism.
He split his strategy into four basic moves:
- Systematic raids with the support of the Iraqi government
- Americans will not be directly involved in the fight. Obama will send 475 people to Iraq who have to deal with coaching, support intelligence and equipping Iraqi and Kurdish troops
- The fight against jihadist ideology and obstruction of migration of foreign people who want to work for ISIS
- The United States will continue to support humanitarian civilians, especially religious minorities
In my opinion, these ideas will not bring anything new to the war against terrorism. The speech was more written with the anger from the situation with two reporters who were beheaded in front of the whole world. He gave this speech to show his outrage, but not consulting his movements with other countries are not a smart move.
